War Trucks Don’t Belong in City Traffic
National Guard deployed by Trump collides with SUV on Capitol Hill
Heavy Armor, Light Accountability.
There is a lie built into the photo op: soldiers on patrol while officials tell residents to carry on as usual. You cannot flood a dense American city with armored vehicles and federal troops and also pretend it’s business as usual. That dissonance isn’t just psychological. It’s dangerous.
We saw it on Capitol Hill1. An armored D.C. National Guard M-ATV collided with an SUV; firefighters had to cut the driver out, and the Guard says it’s “investigating.”
M-ATV = Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV). Yes, you read that correctly. The M-ATV is ambush protected, your ride is not.
