First, the French Government has fallen but cannot be readily replaced, but this provides a chance to contrast French and American political development, historical methods of accountability.

Also, I have decided to bite the bullet and watch the director’s cut of Ridley Scott’s Napoleon…I’ll review it.

In Syria the state has fallen. What went wrong? Why how is the Middle East stepping up to sort itself without China and America?

This past Friday I gave a talk to the Colonial Dames of Alexandria, about 17th century wars and their impact on Virginian identity and political development.
