Your point about the longevity of the USA as related to the age of many other governments is spot on. Although US political parties perpetually bang heads and the ongoing tug of war between three branches of the federal government continues, our form of government is not an "experiment" at this juncture. If anything, its proof that imperfect democracies striving to be more perfect over time have a demonstratively superior record of elevating the human economic and social condition. At this 250 year mark, in my opinion we need to collectively banish the term "American experiment" and "experiment in democracy" and such similar phrases.
